Appointment of New Minister of National Security


I am pleased to announce that the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, the Rt. Honourable Philip Edward Davis QC, has appointed the Honourable Wayne Munroe QC, as Minister of National Security on September 20, 2021.

The Hon. Wayne Munroe QC is the Principal at Munroe & Associates Law Firm, and was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple on July 26, 1990. He was subsequently called to The Bahamas Bar on August 24, 1990. As a noted human rights lawyer and legal expert, he was appointed Queen's Council in January 2015.

The Hon. Wayne Munroe QC, has served the public on multiple fronts over the years as a Stipendiary and Circuit Magistrate, Acting Justice in the Supreme Court of The Bahamas, President of The Bahamas Bar Association, Chairman of The Bahamas Bar Council and Advocacy Lecturer at the Council's Eugene Dupuch Law School.

On behalf of the Senior Executive Leadership Team, senior officers, contracted officers, police reserves and police civilians, I take this opportunity to congratulate and welcome the Hon. Wayne Munroe QC as Minister of National Security. We look forward to working with him as the Royal Bahamas Police Force continues to fulfil its primary mandate of enforcing all laws for which it is charged, as we seek to create safer communities throughout the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
